via Bloomberg - Winklevoss Twins Explain Why Bitcoin Better than Gold
In a dollar crisis, I would say gold and perhaps diamonds are the better store of value.
The economics of Bitcoin depends entirely on crashes in China, Greece, Cypress, negative rates in Europe or Japan, but once all the repatriation of currency has run its course into US markets, Bitcoin will have to face dollar depreciation.
And if they really wanted to stabilize as a currency, they would need to issue bonds. If they were as valuable a store of value in a crisis as they think they are, then they too would eventually see the same low interest rates as other bond markets with 'AAA' ratings low volatility. It has to be the greatest irony that a commodity based on your ability to file numbers in a computer and imaginary powers is considered more worthwhile than real world commodities.
