via Bloomberg.ca - Silver Standard On M&A

The Silver Standard acquisition of Claude comes as a surprise, because the province allowed the company to be acquired. This means that GBN.V gets no special consideration.

Does Silver Standard's acquisition of Claude mean that they now have a foot in the door of the province, allowing them to make further acquisitions? The only one that's left is GBN.V, btw.

Has the province now acted against GBN.V, providing public information to Silver Standard that Netolitzky would rather keep secret? Is the province absolutely fed up with GBN.V and wants to see some development, when the company has the wherewithal to run a profitable mining company?

Or did one of the principal shareholders get fed up and approach the province themselves, someone with intimate knowledge of mining and a bias towards silver?

Or is it that someone has already been observing the company for years through highly detailed SAT photos? SAT photos on the GBN.V property update frequently over the Jolu Mill area, that means that someone is already accumulating data. Otherwise there wouldn't be any SAT photos.

Somebody is paying for detailed photos of the prospect before they are actually released through a third party data provider, who has a license to distribute the same material. And this has been going on for years.

The way it works is that someone subcontracts the satellite company to acquire data and pays for it. The satellite data comes in seasonally, so it's awarded to the customer. What they get is a very large digital photo in great detail over a large area. But then a subcontractor then has a licensing agreement with the Satellite company and the seasonal photos appear on the web for sale. The web customer gets the same detail, only over a very small area.

Search engines with a digital global map also periodically buy this same data and update their maps on their own schedule. What you get is a very large data set with detailed SAT photos like the original customer gets who subcontracted the satellite company, but resold to the search engine.

My question for GBN.V management is, don't you think you aught to get going on the project given that all of your closely guarded secrets are actually public information? And that bigger players in the space are moving on your sector?

I would start with a dividend.

A surprise decline in the spread between nearest dated futures and longest dated futures in gold prices during the period of a continuation pattern aught to reverse once again.
