Every year since the major gold price correction has seen a rally into the new year. On the 2013-2014 calendar new year a rally occurred lasting several weeks, starting November or December. Very highly likely that the protracted skew in gold prices has been left behind, but I would be waiting to see how gold prices fare in March:
