I would say that the period following Jan. 2010 will draw a strong analogy to the present, if only because the technicals are lining up the same way.

A reversal in this chart is very helpful to improving fundamentals in the gold price.

Low volatility is the hallmark of price advances since the November price low. You can draw a close comparison with the position of the technicals in January, 2014 and now, when there was a rally.
