Saskatchewan's SECRET Gold Mining Development.

If you read through the various article from different sources, the picture that emerges is that a proxy battle probably destroyed any investment interest in the La Ronge Gold Belt at the time.
It was seen that the merger of Canadian Premium and Mahogany, combining their interests over the Mallard Lake Deposit, caused a collapse of interest.
Murray Pezim also grossly mis-represented the nature of deposits, while geologists vociferously disputed his claims and poured cold water on them, downplaying the prospect as a whole.
Along with the bickering and feuding over deposits in the La Ronge Gold Belt, you had the brokerages taking advantage over shareholders by exploiting the proxy vote, where shareholders simply ignore using their vote, and brokerages vote in their stead.
They were heavily shorting these companies, and a merger of exploration companies would have sprung them out of their huge liabilities.
With the merger a foregone conclusion, these gold properties were seen as a swindle and the necessary capital could not be raised. They collapsed eventually, meaning the sell-side won out, despite the fact that they were sitting on viable gold-mining properties.
Certainly the war on shareholders being conducted by the sell-side at present, and the desperate bid to control the company with a minority shareholder interest by the managing director, by running a shell company of no value along with drastic curtailments of production appears to be leading in the same direction. (as I have pointed out, there may be bigger interests involved, such as equity swaps)
It's very highly likely that brokerages heavily betting on the sell side will use your proxy vote in GBN.V shares if you don't use it yourself. This is where the sell-side firmly intends to make good on their bet, through using your own vote against you.
