Resolute Funds

Resolute famously sold off millions of shares in GBN.V from July of last year till October, 2010. The sum total of shares they sold was on the order of some 20m. shares after participating in a financing in the spring.

I presume that this sell off was meant to reduce the risk of exposure to GBN.V. You sell off the shares that you first bought in order to pay for your lavish excess, and then some.

Resolute still owns ~9.66m. shares and 12m. warrants, however. The only place on the web where you can get this information is via FT.com or using SEDAR.

At the bottom of the page, you can get the Institutional Shareholders positions, and who sold recently:

It looks like the smaller institutional holders all sold while attracting others, but the largest holders have remained the same. Also a simple way to figure out whether the largest holders added some in the last year.

Resolute owns companies such as Goldore (GOZ.V) Crocodile (CRK.TO) and B2Gold (BTO.TO). Considering the development capital required to implement commercial production at some of the largest disseminated sulphide deposits running into the billions, perhaps the narrow vein mines with good grade controls and no exaggerated widths are the best bet. Look at some of the floats of these companies and their projects.

Gold miners may be considered "dividend growth stocks" without having to have a few beers first:

Brent Cook

A good discussion of grade dilution, payback, some claims made in the markets by miners.
