Star Lake Mine Story - 1986

A detailed account of the Star Lake Mine, which was the focus of attention in the late 1980's is available here. All that was required was a rising gold price, which we have now, some 25 years later: (note that the report grades the Star Lake mine @15.5 g/t, producing 80,000 oz. per year with 400tpd. The Roy Lloyd mine should provide a very similar grade once the grade at the mill is announced - something the company neglected to do.)

"Welcome to Saskatchewan, ladies and gentlemen, you may as well turn your watch back 20 years."

You will notice that the mill zone, which comprises almost all of the former mining projects in the La Ronge Gold Belt hasn't been developed, in favour of implementing the Roy Lloyd mine. A very large Soil Gas Hydrocarbon survey was taken over this whole area, which went UNREPORTED.

Either the Roy Lloyd mine's grade and size is much better than the company is saying, or there really isn't much to go on in the mill zone, which should actually be considered the jewel in the crown.
