Holiday GreetingsPermit me to express my best wishes for yourself, family and friends during this holiday season. It feels a little strange posting developments during Christmas, but I'm sure these additions are good food for thought.
Goldcorp. Buys Canplatshttp://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601012&sid=au9XC0OsaFdEhttp://www.mineweb.net/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page67?oid=94900&sn=DetailNote that large companies will buy out smaller companies based on a speculative bet, not whether the company produces gold exactly, just that the float isn't large, and even at this late date, speculating on base metals prices. There was a bidding war going on, so this would make it more heated overall. Bingo, by itself in a simple, direct comparison with the Seabee mine, probably holds about twice what Canplats has if you count the new en echelon discovery. Bingo grades 12g/t (I assume it will be more like other known defunct mines in the La Ronge, ~18g/t) while Canplats grades .71g/t, less that a gram per tonne. GBN.V has many more developmental areas with new discoveries on hand, and no exposure to base metals declines.
Don Coxe Comments On Goldhttp://www.mineweb.net/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page33?oid=94810&sn=DetailWeekly Analogous Gold ChartNothing abnormal in the way of a gold price correction after a heated rise. In the same way that the gold price had corrected in December of 2005, and October of 2007, we are seeing a very similar pattern arise in December of 2009.
Stockcharts.comGolddrivers.com Amends Inflation Adjusted Gold Chart
Golddrivers.com makes a very strong point by amending its long term inflation adjusted chart to reflect the amount of money being pumped into the $US economy, using shadowstats.com CPI statistics. The number for the 40-year inflation adjusted average is eerily similar to Jim Sinclair's $1650/oz. price prediction.
