I find it a strange coincidence that the Rusoro offer expiration date and the supposed meeting dates are at about the same time. Does Gold Reserve have meetings with Venezuelan officials every week or so? I doubt it, phone calls at best.

My first question is - Who asked for the meeting? If us, then Doug wants to make some progress. However if Venezuela, then there is pressure on them do do something and they are ameniable to a proposal due to the Rusoro failure. Perhaps as you suggest, they will make a proposal at the start. If only.

Rusoro's preferred status? I do not think they can say that officially because it would provide us with added ammunition at the ICSID.
