Fascinating article! It should be pointed out that the article is quite a bit longer than the portion you quoted. And in addition the main article is followed by a hundred comments, many of which are worth a read, especially those of the author.

i agree, but i normally don't post entire articles because some authors and bloggers don't like that practice. some of them or their advertisers may get paid based on how many eyeballs see their work, and if i post the entire article, that's one less hit on their page for each person who reads it here. so i usually limit the excerpt to 400 words, and provide credit to the author, and a link to the entire article. that should give people enough of an idea of whether they want to read the entire essay.

it's easier on the readers to post the entire article, but if the author gets miffed, he may stop posting his work for free, and then we all lose out.
