01:17 PM EST, 01/11/2018 (MT Newswires) -- GoGold Resources (GGD.TO) said Thursday production from its Parral Tailings project in Mexico rose 11% to 392,406 silver equivalent ounces in the quarter ended December 31, up 11% from the prior three-month period.

The company said it was the fifth consecutive quarter of production at the site, which is producing gold and silver from tailings deposited over 340 years of mining operations.

GoGold also said it has wrapped up construction of a sulfidization, acidification, recycling and thickening plant at the site, which it expects to lower costs and produce saleable copper sulfide. It has also made improvements at its on-site lab, after reporting fiscal 2017 production 3.7% higher than its actual results. The company said the improvements will ensure production estimates are within 1% of actual results.

The company's shares were unchanged at $0.395 at last look on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
