Global Railway Reports on the Election of 6 Board Members at the Annual General Meeting

London, Ontario – May 12, 2009 - Global Railway Industries Ltd., - (GBI:TSX): Global Railway Industries Ltd., www.globalrailway.com, ("Global" or the “Company”), a leading North American provider of railway products and services announced today that six board members were elected by the Company shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on May 12, 2009, to form Global’s board of directors. Re-elected to the board are Terry McManaman Chairman, President and CEO of Global and Jean Clerk QC, a lawyer at Heenan Blaikie, specializing in railway law and related railway transactions.

The four new members of Global’s board include:

Jacques Cote. Mr. Cote is a former senior executive of Canadian Pacific Railway.

Laurie Bennett, CA. Mr. Bennett is a retired audit partner of Ernst & Young LLP.

Alan G. Sellery. Mr. Sellery is a Managing Director and co-founder of Ironbridge Equity Partners.

Thomas P. Dea. Mr. Dea is a partner of West Face Capital Inc., a Toronto-based institutional investor.
