''Crystal Fuels is in the business of producing biodiesel for customers. Crystal Fuels' subsidiary in Brazil, BioCom, was the first "vertically integrated Biodiesel Company" in Brazil. Biocom owns a crushing facility, a fuel distributorship, a biodiesel production unit manufacturing operation, a biodiesel research lab, and a biodiesel production operation blending bio product made from multiple oil feedstocks with petroleum diesel. Biocom designed, using licensed reactor technology, and fabricates biodiesel "mini refinery" units for use and sale. Biodiesel is recognized as an alternative to petroleum-based diesel. Biodiesel is made from oil extracted from plants, animal fats, or recycled oil. It is renewable, non-toxic and has significantly lower levels of greenhouse emissions than petroleum-based diesel fuel, as well as being biodegradable in the event of spills on land or water. Biodiesel production has a number of additional advantages including the creation of rural employment and development. Biodiesel (B100) can be mixed with petroleum-based diesel to form a blended diesel (B20=20%bio) recognized for its environmental and operational properties. Biodiesel burns clean, improves lubricity in diesel engines, improves gas mileage due to higher cetane and does not emit harmful pollution.''
