MDI, which plans to change its name to reflect the change, will initially focus its operations on commercializing jatropha oil for biodiesel production. In its first step as a renewable fuels company, MDI submitted a proposal to the U.S. DOE in late September for a four-year, $42 million project to construct a self-contained jatropha plantation, and a biodiesel and synthetic diesel refinery in the United States.''
