Fascinating, in a sense. I think you are right, there is a lot more chatter going on. As when you are coming to the end of a traffic jam. 

Something has to happen soon. 

IMHO, they are getting desperate. They just pulled out a paper Peter Davies wrote in 2010. I think Peter (technopete) is a straight shooter. But at that point; It appeared maybe DW had something, and I was hired to see if he did. His equipment "demonstrated" very high permittivity and energy. 

I got excited, this could be a genuine breakthrough! After 40+ years, I had seen a few leaps, but nothing that big. What a great retirement project! I signed off on a press release (that has haunted me since.)

The rest is history, as they say.

but, Peter, based on the data he saw, decided to do his doctoral thesis on it. 

So, in his defense, the story in 2010 was very different from today. But if it is useful for pumping, it will be used.
