OK, then please explain this admission by the member:

Do an IP check on my post. It will list a few other names that I have used.

Paul

I agree that since he returned 4/20/11 to be only using one user name to post...you are correct, but; what about DABOSS's question today?

So we are to now assume that the 4 aliases tied Paul, all with BL somewhere in the alias, are randomly other posters that happen to be part of a Dynamic IP that participate elsewhere?

Do those aliases have voting privileges and if so, have they used them?

I have also innocently experienced the "ghost" alias, as have others, but never so obviously using my moniker, and they have since disappeared.

Just seems a bit beyond odd.

DB

PS: Please note that this is my first and only correspondence with you regarding BL's alias, and only because you brought it to the board at this time.

George,

In conclusion from my perspective, this is not about poster/member BLunist, although the focus is there at the EDIG HUB, but the value of the IP check tool itself. People who know how, I do not, can create multiple IP addresses, multiple user names, multiple email addresses, and do there multiple posts, star voting, thumbs, flagging posts etc. Each time we come upon this issue, the standard answer is "dynamic IP" with the boiler plate verbage...OK, I understand why, kinda sorta.

In this specific instance, the member is admitting publically to have multiple user names...

I repeat above...

"Do an IP check on my post. It will list a few other names that I have used.

Paul"

This example is being used and questioned by some EDIG folks because it is a recent event that exposes in our opinion the tool needs some tweaking to be effective for the sake of the boards and it's members.

Thanks in advance for your consideration to this matter, and hopefully a resolution to our concerns.

Lastly, one of the cool things about AGORACOM is the willingness to consider input from it's members to enhance and upgrade an already well oiled machine, yet all engines need their oil changed at regular intervals.

Regards, DISCHINO.
