On one of the boards I read/participate in, a poster states forgetting his password, and when asking Agoracom to retrieve it, he states it being taken care of, but the post was from an alias going back to 2005 that he thought had been closed, thus the IP check tool reveiled both names.

The one he was using from Dec, 2009 is the one he states forgetting the password, yet a 5 year old alias is what Agoracom provided so he could post again.

It's innocent on his part, just curious how this can happen.

You can imagine the questions raised when the check tool displayed two names....

I.E., if I had a user name of XYZ 5 years ago, stopped posting for 5 years, re-registered as DISCHINO, and forgot my password, why would you provide me the answer for XYZ?
