You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
I know 4 people on EDIG who closed there account in the last year at their request. 3 of the 4 were HL's no less. It may take a while, but they will honor the request.
Rather than publically posting it as a "? to Agora" I suggest using the "Contact Us" feature at the top right.
Hopefully after we read the IP update on Tues, concerns will be lessoned if not eliminated.
