unless the rules have changed recently, we can ban treasurers. some time ago in the sso forum we had an individual who became very arrogant after he was promoted to treasurer. apparently he thought he could do whatever he wanted, and his new rank would protect him. it didn't.

we have had people in the mailroom initiate the violations procedure, but that's fine with me. if a troublemaker wants to flag one of my posts, and then sends it to me (!) well, i can only thank him for showing his true colors.

the good thing about this environment is that the people who come to agoracom to cause trouble don't have the patience or the maturity to behave themselves long enough to achieve high rank. if they did, they'd be worth having around.
