Not sure what kind of advice you are looking for, but the assumed duties vary HL by HL and board by board.

One of the goals of Agora is that HL's take action to help keep the board free of those who continually violate their 6 rules. When an obvious violation is seen, such as insults, bashing, profanity to name the real "bad stuff" a HL should flag the post at the least. You then can go to the manage violations tab and "process" it, or let Agora see it and they will either ignore the violation, remove the post, or even ban the user. Flagging must never be personal, just business.

There are other "duties" that HL performs, but keeping the board clean and professional is the most important IMO.
