Member Inquiries, Feedback and Testimonials
Hi Bluenoser.
Thank you for your inquiry. We actually take quite a lot of information into consideration before suspending any members posting privileges. A three strike rule would apply to a new member; for example someone who just created an account a couple of days ago, and out of 5 posts, has three violations.
While this may work for new posters, it may not be the case for members with a history over several months. They could be posting Off Topic Messages on a Main Discussion board; a three strike rule would suspend a member whose intents were not malicious.
Our backend provides us with enough intelligence with regards to who is contributing within this Community, and who is stirring the pot. Things like a members rating and the number of ignores one has would lead us to creating a ban.
Our six rules of use are clear and concise and I am afraid despite the flexibility of the LBE board members, and as such had stretched their limits.
AGORACOM is not here to police anyone; nor do we support censorship. I understand that it is often difficult to prove a negative however if ones opinion opposes popular discourse you are welcome to share your thoughts. In most cases this leads to great and open discussion.
We can understand both your frustration and the point you are trying to get across. We are an advent of opposing views and understand that it is quite hard indeed to prove a negative.
However it is how one disagrees that matters and this is what we consider to be the greatest point in deciding whom to keep or whom suspend. Is one posting a legitimate question towards the board or management based on empirical evidence and or fact? Or is one dwelling on the same question with the intent to instill doubt? We understand there is a fine line separating the two but by reviewing ones history one can come to a solid conclusion.
Regarding a ban from a single forum; at the present time we have no such mechanism installed. We are familiar with the poster in mind and have at this time asked the poster to rethink their approach when posting on the Liberty Mines Hub. We will follow up using a more formal tone within the day, however if the behavior persists we may be forced to reprimand this member. That's not our goal here at AGORACOM; in fact we spend thousands of dollars monthly on Google ads for ALL our small cap communities. Our venture is to help you grow. However if one or two posters disrupt this community we have to prevent them from hindering the communities well being.
Thanks again for your inquiry and your contributions within the AGORACOM Community.
Regards,
AGORACOM
