I don't know too much about graphite, and know a little more about copper. Let's call copper $4/lb (which is close). 2200lbs in a ton is $8800 per ton of copper.
Let's say graphite is around $3000 per ton (reaching a bit here). That's approximately 1/3 of the price of copper.
I understand that 1% copper is a viable number to mine, even lower if you can grab some gold/silver credits along the way. This puts into perspective that anything above 3% graphite and we are entering profit territory. This comparison of course, can be devastatingly wrong but I thought I would share anyways.
I do know that graphite is a world easier to extract than copper.
