...so I have been using a bullion dealer here in Canada called Canadian Bullion Services (C.B.S.) for my silver purchases. Thus far I have made 7 or 8 separate transactions with them over the past year for silver bullion, and I am very happy with their overall performance. Typically from the time that I wire my funds I receive my product within 5 to 7 business days. About 60% of my bullion is in the form of Canadian Silver 1 oz Maple Leaf rounds, and the majority of the remainder consists of various 10oz bars. I have been looking to purchase 1/2 oz silver rounds, but I have found that most bullion dealers exact a higher premium the smaller the mass of the coin. For example the cost of 1/2 oz Walking Liberty Silver Round at C.B.S. is $14.60 CDN (when purchasing 100 or more) or $29.20/oz. That compares to a current (3/15/14) price of silver of $23.82 (21.46X1.11 ) , and represents a ~22.5% premium above spot!

So just for the hek of it I checked out First Majestic's bullion store today. Their price is only $25.53 CDN ($23.00 U.S.), regardless of the size of the product. So although one doesn't get a relative discount in the premium paid above spot for the larger 10oz or 100oz bars (as is typically the case with other bullion dealers) , the premium paid for the 1/2 oz rounds and all other products is only ~7%. So I made a purchase today, and I will see how it goes...I am happy that I was able to use my Canadian credit card, and to not have to worry about going to my bank within 48 to 72 hours of making my online transaction, to wire the funds! And their credit card purchase limit is a very reasonable $5000.00.

Now obviously the First Majestic products won't have the universal name recognition as some of the other products, but on the other hand , I would rather the premium that I am paying for my bullion be going towards a company that I also hold stock in.
