"The technology which was commercialised by DuPont in 1948 involves the use of high temperature and anhydrous vapour-phase reactions. The process initially involves the reaction of the feedstock titanium ore with chlorine gas at a lower temperature to obtain titanium tetrachloride. Metallic chloride impurities are removed in the process. Highly purified titanium tetrachloride is then oxidised at high temperature to produce intermediate titanium dioxide."

It would appear that Pangang has opted for DuPont's process and not Magpie's. Well that was a few years of spinning our wheels. At least Magpie's benefication process was proven to be superior to others in the market. If DuPont's process is worth $17.2m U.S. then what is ours worth?
I hope there is another Chinese company ready and willing on the side lines.
Time will tell.
