"The high temperature carbonization was reportedly carried out with hot charged slag. BF slag in liquid state is transported by ladle to the pilot line from PG Ironmaking Plant, which takes almost 3.5 hour normally. The tapping temperature of BF slag is above 1450℃, which meets the initial reaction temperature required for titanium dioxide and coke fines in BF slag. Tests suggest that the carbon pre-mixing process can improve conductivity of molten slag, shorten melt forming time and tap-to-tap period and reduce electricity consumption."
Sounds like a very slow process to me, they either need one huge ladle and 1000's of employees to carry the ladles, or move everything closer together ... sounds very inefficient to me.
IMO I don't think that this process is cost effective and I wait to hear the outcome of the talks between the Chinese and FNC. Maybe the same time as last year - late Feb.
I hope before then there has been some movement in the ROF, CIA & the Quebec gov't buying the Cliff's mines, more info on the gold property, the copper property, UBR and their high end quartz and something about LIR and St. Georges Platinum would be nice.
But once again will will need to wait and hear from our illustrious leader stearing the ship.
