Agreed, we can certainly take this lesson from RGX. What we need is a guy or gal who would fill the role of Director of IR, at an "executive" level.

- Responsibility: in charge of IR and marketting to make sure that the company looks good to the outside world, and to enhance shareholders value. This person may report to the CEO, but must be given enough authority and automomy to do the job. This person must be able to discuss and promote new ideas with the CEO as an equal, and not as a subordinate. What we don't need is a YES person who would run, hat in hand, to the bosses every time for instructions.

- Qualifications: A go-getter, who would know how to sort the wheat from the chaff. Independent thinker rather than someone who just follows orders to do the routine stuff that does not require much imagination and innovation. We are aiming for high quality and the ability to persuade the company to embrace change in direction. In fact what we want is more than just routine IR stuff. This person should be given a mandate to propose actions that would include strategic planning for the direction of the company (e.g. more drilling of new properties versus focusing on what we have so far to increase the valuation of existing holdings, Magpie as an example). In addition, this person should be given an opportunity to participate in discussion of potential divestment of non-key assets and to intereact with potential buyers (note: this is not a fire sale). For this kind of activities the person must have enough stature to be taken seriously by the counterparts at the negotiation table.

Come to think about it this person could be considered as the righthand man/woman to take care of this IR and marketing for the CEO who might want to pursue what he would like to do (and has been doing very well), i.e. geology and drilling.
