Yup, Havre St-Pierre is due south (and just slightly to the east), but it would be convenient for Magpie to use Sept-Isle Port to ship the ore overseas. It should be possible to piggy back on that service road of the planned hydro dam (nice chat with Hydro Quebec), at least for transporting supplies and workers for the mine development. Power should not be a concern if the power corridor is within 20km.
The cheapest ore transportation to the outside world would be by RR (build a short line from Magpie to a junction near Havre St-Pierre with costs to be shared by several stakeholders, the Prov and Fed included). Ore transportation by trucks could be an option, perhaps initially to get some cash flow before the completion of RR. This RR would be much shorter than the one KWG is proposing for the Ring of Fire.
