Nice find Cappy. So, this NOT hole #40 was a good hole with excellent chromite intercepts and indication of Ni etc. near the bottom. One popular reason (especially if you run out of reason) for stopping the drilling is to put the blame on the drill bit. Of course as usual it broke! That would be technical enough. But drilling into somebody's claim is something else. May be FNC has been doing the same thing? Nobody would know if you don't come out and advertise this thing to the world. My guess would be that hole $40 was at a different location than the cluster of 3 extra holes in the fan of #243 and #344 shown in the diagram posted by Notster (6 Feb, top RHS for Eagle area).
This is kind of blatant, from NOT's part, drilling underneath somebody's backyard, but there seem to be no complaints from FNC (results must be good). Just wondering what those 3 hole have found. They all heading in the direction of the pink blobs (mag anomaly) around FNC particularly C-1, C-2 areas. In my opnion, C-5 up in the corner of BD and BC (the golden triangle) is quite promissing, but Dr. Smith did not seem to care much about it...Just look at the huge pink blob screaming at FNC geo team. Why not just sink a deep hole straight down near that corner where PRB's BC and the 30% KWG's BD converge. May be there are other reasons beside geology (brinkmanship, or FNC already known about the deposit on their side, just by talking with the PRB and KWG drill crews over a beer).
