Thanks for your suggestion. Perhaps I was not clear when I posed the question about removing the old site completely from the internet by the company webmaster (is it possible?).

I had no trouble getting to the new website without pressing F5. I simply clicked on the link provided by a previous poster (lethalgal?) and voila the new website.

Yes, it's a much much better website.
