Rhythmic layering, descriptive termology used to describe layers from the Bushvelt complex in South Africa where chromium and platinum group precious minerals are mined from the layered intrusions in the Merensky Reef which is part of the Bushvelt complex. This reef or layer is found near the top of what is called the critical zone, prehaps another poster can add something on this latter term,Critical Zone as I have no idea what it means and havn't taken the time to research it.
Prehaps the question re layering in FNC latest intersection should be; Is there PGM's, pentlandite or other Ni mineral assemblages, Cu, etc in this layered complex? The Bushvelt layered complex is huge but maybe when many years of exploration are competed in the McFaulds area we might say the same about this layered complex as well. There has been one or more posts recently re conductive zones at depth but nothing concrete has been written about this. Possibly speculation about conductive zones within or closely associated with the established chromite layer is just that; nevertheless it would be a great surprise.
