Gold spot prices slipped $3.51 (U.S.) to $913.25 in quiet trading yesterday amid a higher greenback, which puts pressure on gold prices, and a decline in stocks. Other commodities were mixed. The Reuters-Jefferies CRB index slipped 0.63.

Indian iron ore fines prices rose by around $1 this week as steel prices in China and freight rates both rose. Prices for 63.5% Fe content Indian iron ore fines moved up to $65-66 per tonne cfr Chinese ports. Bookings increased, especially in the later half of the week, and more business was concluded for medium to high-grade Indian fines than in previous weeks, said market participants.
