It is interesting SA chose the 1st quarter. Their general election is in April...possible political tool to promote job creation maybe? Reading what is coming out of SA and seeing videos of their protests point to a slight contradiction from the environmentalists. On one hand, TKAG claims the people of SA are against fracking. However, if you watch the videos of the protests, the crowds are small and they are overwhelmingly white. To my knowledge, the Karoo is predominately black South Africans. My only fear with this whole process is the legal battle promised from TKAG. They're well funded and have pro bona lawyers on their side. The best outcome for Falcon is TKAG loses and their appeals get denied. Worst case, they get a judge to suspend fracking operations until a decision is reached. If that is the case, both side will appeal all the way up to the Constitutional Court. How long will that take? I do not have the slightest clue. All I know is this, investment will drain from the country if it is not resolved quickly. Let's just hope that a great deal is signed for the Beetaloo asset, then SA can take their sweet time.
