Developing large acreage positions of unconventional and conventional oil and gas resources

Thanks for this detailed view of conventional versus unconventional fields by Ben Law.

Ben mentions one of Marc Bruner's earlier exploration plays which was Ultra Petroleum. In digging through Ultra's news sites, I noticed that their biggest deep gas properties by reserves are still the Pinedale and Jonah fields in Wyoming, where they still have over 5 TCF of proven reserves and up to 15 TCF in proven and probable reserves.

I was somewhat surprised that Ultra's total land package in these prolific fields was only 93,000 acres. This makes me wonder whether the small land package of 100,000 acres around the Shenendoah #1 well, that Falcon Australia owns 100% of, is more significant a holding than I first thought? With the vast majority of the 7 million acres in the Beetaloo going into the JV with Hess (if they decide to move forward), I didn't think the paltry 100,000 acre bit around Shenendoah was particularly large, but it is still bigger than Ultra's holdings in Wyoming and over 1/3 of the size of Falcon's total share of the Mako trough.
