God bless the seagulls. They ask questions, but if the answer is positive then they don’t even fly near it. They don’t want to know where the information comes from.
Algyö Stratigraphic Potential
• Algyö Formation is located at the top of the BCGA
• Over 700 million boe has been produced on flanks of Makó Trough
– From similar aged rocks
– Algyö Field: 220 million barrels oil, 2.5 tcf gas
– Pusztafoldvar Field and others: significant oil and gas accumulations
• Algyö regional sequence stratigraphic analysis shows:
– Shelf/slope/basin systems prograde from NW to SE
– Slope and basin floor are potential sites for sand-prone turbidites
• Recent analysis of reprocessed 3-D seismic data shows:
– Seismic bright spot (AVO) anomalies are located on slope and on basin floor
• Numerous anomalies (39) ranging from 4 km2 to 32 km2
– These anomalies might be sand-prone turbidite fan lobes
• Possibly charged with hydrocarbons
– Potential reserve size ranges from 5 mmboe to 50 mmboe for each lead/prospect
