MOL didn't really get it right either:
"We consider Falcon's announcement premature since the testing of the Foldeak-1 well and the evaluation of the test results are ongoing," MOL spokeswoman Dora Somlyai said."
They should have said "We consider ExxonMobil's recommendation to be premature"
Exxonmobil made the recommendation to cease testing on the well, Falcons stock price was dropping and the volume was abnormal, so Falcon probably had no choice but to make the announcement.
Exxonmobil most likely didn't expect their recommendation to become public knowledge either, so it's not a stretch to speculate that MOL's wording was a carefully drafted method of damage control by Exxon and MOL.
