>Hopefully these fine shoppers will come knocking on Falcon's door some day real soon.
Well if Hungary is one of the places they are looking, there aren't many doors to knock on.
The article John posted explains the difference between 'shale gas' plays and 'tight gas' plays. I think the Mako trough is technically both. The Szolnok being the tight gas, and the Endrod being the shale gas.
Michael Lynch, who has been a petroleum geologist for 50 years, even seems to confuse the two different types of plays. From a couple of his previous articles:
When Exxon Mobil enters the shale gas segment, it is an indication of its power
"...the company is reviewing all of its producing properties in Europe and has recently signed participation agreements with MOL(Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc) and Falcon Oil and Gas (Canada) to evaluate shale gas reservoirs in Hungary."
ExxomMobil has already set the pace for this exciting trend in shale gas
"Last April ExxonMobil announced agreements with Falcon Oil and Gas and MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas for exploration in the Mako Trough in southeast Hungary."
