Exxon Mobil Business Support Center Hungary

As a global company operating in nearly 200 countries, Exxon Mobil Corporation has always employed people where they can best meet the business' needs and effectively serve its customers. Exxon Mobil continues to standardise work on global processes, thus allowing concentration of selected activities in the most efficient geographic locations. Budapest was chosen, ahead of the many other locations evaluated, as a Business Support Centre location based on the infrastructure quality, suitable office availability, the language and financial/administrative skills of the workforce, and the overall cost of doing business in Hungary. The Exxon Mobil Business Support Centre in Budapest provides support for information systems, financial accounting, operations services and customer services. The Centre at this time supports operations mainly in Europe, using 12 languages. The final number of employees that will be employed in the Budapest Business Support Centre has not been determined; however, they are on target to meet the commitment they made to the Government in 2004. The Business Support Centre is staffed primarily by local employees selected via an extensively advertised recruiting program. The recent award from the Prime Minister recognizing Exxon Mobil as the Company of the Year for Regional Centres was an important achievement, and a demonstration of the very supportive and positive investor relationship with the Hungarian Government.
