Mosonyi said natural gas production at MOL's Hungarian field in Mako could start in 2011 or 2012 the earliest. Mako is an unconventional gas field and MOL is in the process of assessing the gas reserves and production possibilities there.
This is the same guy Platts inteviewed back in Aug 2007:
Gyorgy Mosonyi, CEO of Hungary’s MOL, recently told
Platts that MOL has no intention of becoming a partner in
the development of the Mako field. “We are concentrating
on our own unconventional gas project, with our partner
ExxonMobil,” Mosonyi said. However, his comments do
not necessarily mean MOL is not considering cooperation
with Falcon – indeed, the Canadian company has built
pipeline infrastructure leading to the gas processing plant
at MOL’s nearby Algyo field.
