Some past-time reading while we wait for the mother of unconventional gas discoveries...... :-)

Analysts expect natural gas reserves to drop 100 billion to 105 billion cubic feet

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Energy Department will likely report a 100 billion to 105 billion cubic foot drop in natural gas reserves on Thursday for the week ended Feb. 20, according to a survey by Platts, the energy information arm of McGraw-Hill Cos.

The Energy Information Administration releases its weekly report at 10:30 EST.

A reading above or below estimates can influence market trading.

Last Thursday, the EIA said natural gas inventories held in underground storage in the lower 48 states fell 24 billion cubic feet to about 2 trillion cubic feet for the week ended Feb. 13, shy of the 56 billion to 61 billion cubic foot drop analysts had expected.

After that report, natural gas for March delivery fell 13.6 cents to settle at $4.078 per 1,000 cubic feet on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
