Sweetpea explores for oil and gas

DENVER USA-BASED Sweetpea Petroleum hopes to be operating a major oil and gas project in the Territory within five years.

Exploring in the Daly River area of the Top End, company vice-president Malcolm Gerrad labelled the early results, “very encouraging.”

Sweetpea, a subsidy of resources giant, Falcon Oil and Gas, plans to spend $27 million on exploration over the next five years.

A 24 member team of geophysicists will begin a seismic assessment 680 kilometres long across seven cattle stations in the Beetaloo Basin near Daly River.
