Based on present information, MOL currently estimates a recoverable gas reserve of up to 340 billion cubic metres. ‘The discrepancy between the two estimates does not come from any calculating errors, explains Attila Holoda, but probably from the size differences of the geological structure considered. TXM has estimated the whole reserves existing in the total Makó basin, while MOL only calculated that the upper formation of the structure, promises real production.

It's still unclear as to what MOL's number represents. TXM's numbers DO NOT represent the total of the Mako basin, they are the Scotia report numbers, which only represent the total of the area underneath the production licence.

Do MOL's numbers represent the same area, just their area, or both?

My guess is that MOL's numbers represent the technically recoverable gas of the Szolnok, in Falcons production licence area only. The reason being that at the time, they had yet to drill any holes in their area, and therefore hadn't even confirmed the existance of gas, never mind how much there might be in place.

In any case, both numbers are close. 12 TCF from MOL, 15.7 from Falcon (P90) technically recoverable from the Szolnok, both conservative estimates.

Thats a heck of a lot of gas.
