Hungary has sufficient energy reserves, PM says |

Budapest, January 14 (MTI) - Hungary has sufficient gas and electricity reserves, enough to help out those in need in the region, Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany said in public television's morning talkshow Napkelte on Wednesday.
Gyurcsany said he had telephone conversations several times in the past days with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico, offering him electric energy, should Slovakia need it.
The energy crisis has hit Slovakia hard, as it depends entirely on Russian gas. Electricity is also on short supply, and Fico announced on Tuesday that they were contemplating the reopening of the Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear plant shut down in 2004.
Gyurcsany called the Russian-Ukrainian strife a "petty game", saying it causes great losses to both countries. It is difficult to see where the truth is, but it seems the bigger blame is on Ukraine, he said.
It should be made clear to them that their controversy has a negative impact on our relationship with them, the PM concluded.
