Pipe, your comment "lose a little...if it means we win the war so be it" is probably the most honest comment I have read about unitization so far, you may be right. You are thinking, and accepting a possible loss to win the prize. I suspect that the rest of the team agrees with you, they just cant bring themselves to say so publicly and instead support the idea blindly. You have my respect, but not my agreement. It is too early to get trapped in a unitization scheme. Just how mucch does FO, or MOL or XOM know about Mako to make a responsible judgement. We dont even know if it will produce at this point. And if XOM did think that they can make a go of it, then they would push for unitization, which is exactly what is happening. And MOL is probably privy to XOM's thinking to a much greater degree tha FO. We are an equal partner in an un-equal levelled field. And It is my belief that now is not the time to get soft about it. That is not the right way to negotiate.
