Gas processing equipment construction in Algyő

Szeged- three-story high gas processing equipment is under construction in Algyo gas field. Its function is to clean the natural gas produced from the ground, before the gas can be pumped into the main pipelines.

Heavy duty, 400 tone capacity mobile crane being used to lift in place each of the 75 tone components that make up this equipment. The installation of this heavy equipment - that was shipped straight from Dubai – is part of MOL Nyrt.’s ten billion Forint underground strategic gas storage facilities, said Lajos Szabó project manager.

The construction of the strategic gas storage will ensure that the gas services will not be interrupted, in case of unforeseen supply interruption from other countries. This facility will have a storage capacity of 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas that will be used only in an emergency.
