No worries, Kooter. I agree with you that there is a sad thing about all the things that are going on in the world.
What I have always learned is that change starts with recognising that there is a problem. Then comes acceptance and then you can start working on improvement. In my opinion, this is an era of recognition, almost of biblical proportions. All scandals of the past and present are revealed. Whether it's Katrina, the Gulf oil spill, the Iraq-war, Al Gore's climate change hoax, the Mexican flu hoax, Wikileaks, Guantanamo Bay, torturing in Papua, the banking scandals, all these situations are becoming more and more recognised. And that's good. It's good because the people are going to take charge again once they know about the scandals. At first they will be sad, depressed and worried because their eyes are opened. Then, they will join into groups of people to take action and fight the ones responsible.
Here in Europe, the EU itself is the scandal. The Greeks manipulated their figures and it came to light that their deficits were much more serious than anyone knew. They were rescued with tax payers money. The Irish now have a EUR 95 billion deficit on a population of 4.5million, can you imagine that? That's almost USD30K per person and who's going to pay for that? Tax payers. Because the banks need to be saved. The next one is Portugal, then possibly Spain and Italy. The people are not going to put up with it forever. Revolutions were never initiated by Kings, Queens, Emperors or Presidents, revolutions were always initiated by people.
The coming era will lead us to lose the certainties we thought we had in life. We will realise that housing prices don't always go up, that banks cannot always guarantee that your money is safe, that our pensions may not be safe and that fiat money is not by definition reliable. In fact, I think currencies are going to collapse in the era to come, maybe not today or tomorrow, but they are likely to collapse. This is why I own physical gold. It is God's way (or nature's way if you like) of saying that iPads, Ferraris, designer clothing and working 75 hours a week while hardly spending time with your family are not right. This is not a bad time, this is a really good time. Things are changing and we are lucky to be a part of it. That's just my tuppence.
