"Jonathan Evans, President and CEO of Lithium Americas, stated during a Senate testimony that he expects the output of Thacker Pass to “produce enough domestically sourced lithium chemicals to encourage the development of large-scale cathode, battery and end-user manufacturing in the U.S.” With China responsible for two thirds of the world’s cathode supply, the US producing less than one percent, a rise in domestic cathode production is imperative and Thacker Pass could aid in this change. This is an advantage that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Washington.

Just who will partner with LAC to manufacture cathodes and battery cells?  A prime candidate would be a new solid state cell not yet mass produced!!
