Loneeagle, would you not associate the wild swings with the absence of orders? Look at Level II in the TSX morning pre-market. There are no orders, it's bare. So "someone" throws in a bid for 1.10 when it stood at 1.03 and the ask at 1.15. There are bigger bid/asks further down the tree but the spreads are hugh.
No liquidity on the open, until the institutions start throwing in some trades, and those trades are usually market orders behind the scenes that flash by on one of the ATS that hardly change the current bid/ask. IMO, hard to read anything into trading right now. Maybe "some" tax loss selling on low volume?
