Have hit 300 cycles on coin cells and 60 cycles on multi-layer (6 layer) pouch cells (started working on this January 2022).
Limited need for external pressure on ssb cells
Started pilot-scale manufacturing last summer.
Targeting e-vehicles with solid-state hybrid battery- aiming for a lower cost production than current-generation technology automotive batteries.
Have not scaled production "as yet," feels like they have a roadmap- not ready to "publish" that roadmap. Optimistic about speed of progress.
Manufacturing- "achieving great results so far on a shoestring budget." Will think about pursuing partnership after securing IP.
Dodged question of timeline- but says "under two years away from commercializing."
Comparison between Infinity- ceramic separator with proprietary electrolytes and Solid-state battery technology which is actually a hybrid (as stated in press release).
Will start reaching out to OEMs for partnerships/strategic relationships.
Recharge times- too early to say but should be on par with conventional lithium-ion technologies. Charge rate is more limited by the chargers than the batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries are replacing lead acid. Momentum for this replacement is ramping up.
Will need to continue hiring for solid-state battery development and have mostly financed this growth internally and with some Canadian Government grants.
