YVERDON LES BAINS, Switzerland, June 26, 2017: Leclanché SA (SIX: LECN), a leading supplier of energy storage systems, and Skoda Electric, a leader in the manufacture of electric and traction motors for trolley and electric buses, have entered into a Joint Development Agreement Agreement) and a Framework Purchase Contract under which Leclanché will provide accumulators for Skoda Electric's electric bus expansion strategy. The agreement is valid worldwide and has an initial term of five years.

Leclanché supplies Skoda Electric with high-energy solutions for the company's electric buses (larger G / NMC batteries for overnight charging) and ultra-fast power batteries (smaller LTO batteries for more regular charging, such as at bus terminals). The solutions are modular so that Skoda Electric can build electric buses with a length of 6 to 26 meters across all market segments. 

The first targeted delivery under the partnership will include the handover of a 50 to 350 kWh scalable and ECE R100 (Rev. 2) certified European battery storage system by the end of the current year.
