Daimler selected LG Chem to get battery cells for the Smart EV in 2016.

Daimler didn't say they were going with LG for all of their battery needs, for all their products and applications.

Maybe it's a strategic move to collaborate with other companies for batteries used in other products.

Until they announce who they're going with, speculators will speculate, hopefuls will hope... and bashers will bash...
